Summary of last few months...

It has been eons since I posted and that makes me sad. Sad because I have absolutely no time to record what R is doing and what she's been up to. This blog was therapeutic for me when I was TTC but then nicely captured T's life until R came. Boy- 2nd children really do get the shaft! Anyhow- I am going to try and recount what we have been up to these last few months.

January-
In my last post, I mentioned considering a day care change. We did change to a fantastic center. This center is so fantastic that it has a full time RN employed there. She is awesome and has been so helpful to us. We get lots of feedback daily about what our girls have been up to and we know exactly how many and what kind of diapers have been changed as well as exactly what they have eaten every single day. To say we love it there is an understatement. In fact, i am considering working there this summer.

We realized R was resistant to oral antibiotics in Jan. as well. The poor thing endured an ear infections for about 3 weeks before her first dosage of Rosefin- an injectable antibiotic. We visited an ENT who said that her ears were fine.

I went back to work and FJ continued his job as my boss.

February-
R got another ear infection. T got pink eye. I got the world's worst eye infection that the opthamologist had ever seen. Keep in mind that I took 2 pretty much back to back maternity leaves and have zero remaining leave. That's not entirely true- I took 7 weeks unpaid this time and left 10 days of sick leave in my bank "just in case". The eye infection caused me to miss 6 days! My eyes were swollen from the cheek bones to the eye brows and blood red. Not to mention the yellowish green puss that oozed out of them. Good times. I was told not to touch my children. Right. Luckily I was careful enough that they did not catch it! It finally went away after almost 2 weeks.

March-
R got another ear infection and pnemonia. She went in for her 4 month "well visit" finally because she was finally well enough to receive her immunizations. She still had some wheezing and an ear infection so we were back to rosefin injections and breathing treatments. The ped. also noticed a clicking in her left hip and sent us to have a hip ultrasound to see if hip dysplasia was an issue. It wasn't- false alarm. (Thank God.)

Here we are in April-
Yes, you got it- R got another ear infection and stopped sleeping completely. We now have a referral to a different ENT who deals with babies R's age. The appt however isn't until May 19. She gained yet another ear infection 2 days after her final Rosefin injection. So now she is on omnicef indefintely to keep her ears clear and we are on a cancellation waiting list with the ENT.

I now know what 'terrible twos' mean. T is definitely showing her age. At 22 months- she is very difficult to deal with. She screams and cries at the table, throws her toys, etc. Good times. We are trying not to get frustrated with her and trying to teach her the right way to behave.

Anyhow, that is our lives in a nutshell. I needed to record it somewhere so that when I do get around to doing a baby book I will have a resource!
